First match on Google in just a couple days

Last Friday I posted a link to download the ringtone from the movie Crank.

By Monday it was the first match on Google for crank ringtone and crank ring tone. The ringtone has is getting over 100 downloads/day since.

How did I manage to beat out the studios, the official movie site, and the thousands of ringtone sites to be the first match on Google, and how did it happen so quickly? I'll post all the fun details in an upcoming blog entry.

If you are clever enough to have achieved this then you would also be clever enough to realise that many companies would also like to achieve this and marketing companies, in particular, spend lots of money doing nothing else but trying to achieve this. Viral marketing is coming of age and Dylan's comments, I'm sure, will find the right marks.

Unless, of course, he is one of those free-thinkers that refute the merits of capitalism. If he were that lame he would blog his method!

Well, you should really provide a link to the blog that talks about how the heck you did that. I mean, that kind of information is probably worth millions, but you did promise that you would show! Seriously, that's amazing. Maybe it is simple though : no one really cares about crank. Or, ring tones are just that popular, and no one else decided to even make one. I've learnt with Google that you can't really know. It seems highly confusing, if you ask me, and I can't figure it out... anyway, will keep reading, and hopefully can find the link to the post where you give this secret out!

It's not too hard to get a blog post to the top of the SERPS when there's only 750K terms matching two keywords. #1 the fact he's using permalink url structure gives it a boost and the keywords in the title definitely add boost.
