Voter registration company shredded registrations for Democrats
October 13, 2004 1:19 PM
The freedom to vote has been taken away from "hundreds, perhaps thousands" of voters who, on November 2nd will think that they are registered to vote.
"We caught her taking Democrats out of my pile, handed them to her assistant and he ripped them up right in front of us. I grabbed some of them out of the garbage and she tells her assisatnt to get those from me," said Eric Russell, former Voters Outreach employee.
More reasons why the RNC scares me:
The company has been largely, if not entirely funded, by the Republican National Committee. Similar complaints have been received in Reno where the registrar has asked the FBI to investigate.

First of all, it was a "private" company who did this, NOT the Republican National Commitee...
Second, no one is going to lose their right to vote because of a law passed after the Al Gore controversy during the last election which has provided everyone the right to "provisional" votes, something the news story did not include, most likely because then there would be no story...
For your awareness:
An election judge will issue you a provisional ballot at your polling place if:
* Your name does not appear on the lists of registered voters for the precinct.* Your voting status has been challenged.
* A court order is issued instructing your polling place to remain open after 7 pm (Everyone voting after 7 pm must cast provisional ballots if this occurs).
* You are required to show identification because you registered by mail, but you did not bring ID to the polling place on Election Day.*
http://www.voterinfonet.com/sub/provisional_when_used.aspObviously, the RNC is aware of the law regarding provisional votes, since they were involved in the passing of the law... so, it is highly doubtful they would be involved in such activity, as it is pretty much pointless... no one will be denied their vote come election day...

That "private company" recieved their funding from the RNC. They tore up registrations for Democrats.
The RNC has funded an organization that was against the American freedom to vote and has not even spoken out agains them.

tearing up registrations will not stop these people from voting...
did you not read the article provided in the link...?So what if the information hasn't gotten to the RNC yet and received comment...?
First of all, they were not contacted, as I understand it, or asked to comment on it to this point in time... the fellow went directly to the FBI and the media...
second of all, would you even print their comment if they made one, if it did not further your biased anti-bush stance...? highly unlikely from what I've seen throughout your site....

Mr. or Mrs. Anonymous 4509, your reliance on the provisional ballot is misplaced. A provisional ballot can only become an actual vote it the election officials determined that it was a properly cast vote,i.e, a vote by a registered person. So a person whose registration was destroyed (unknown to that person or the the local election commission) shows up to vote is denied the vote because they are not on the rolls. They then vote provisionally. Next the election officials check the records and lo and behold the person is not registered. Sorry, your provisional ballot is worthless. The destruction of a registration by the agent of the RNC is a crime and the person whose registration was destroyed is denied the right to vote.

Dollars donated by citizens on tax return-----for campaign funds--- are given to each party based on the number of voters registered to that party? Aren't they? Or is it by how many really come and are ALLOWED to vote? I'm NOT a lawyer.
So destroying registration is not just voter fraud and unfair disenfranchisement---it is financial theft. Since it changes use of tax gift--is it tax fraud? They sent Capone to jail for tax fraud---not murder. Does that make it a "scheme to defraud?" It is a felony to vote in wrong place. Is it a felony to PREVENT torn registration voter from voting in right place? Real question is, what kind of person cares so little about freedom and has so little confidence in their candidate---that they think they MUST cheat? If you make rules to keep new parties off ballot and cheat for your candidate to win, you lost the point that WE THE PEOPLE choose. Might as well be like banana republics and just let the guy with the biggest army rule. VERY RUDE!Posted December 22, 2006 12:03 PM
I agree with the comment above ;) Many good points you have there :)
