We met Dinesh and Anita Sharma in Honduras in the 80s. I remember Anita being pregnant with Anoopa and when she went to Miami to have Anoopa so that Anoopa, like Uttama, would be born an American citizen. And of course I remember when Anita brought Anoopa home. Our son Erik and Uttama used to play together, and Anoopa always wanted to join in!
We are praying for Anoopa's recovery, and our thoughts are with Dinesh and Anita and Uttama, too.

Jerry and I were privileged to meet Anoopa's family Sat. when we visited at UAB. We were touched by their warmth and loving commitment to each other. We continue to pray...that this time and these circumstances "be not wasted" as Bonhoeffer wrote. Oh, words seem so trite and clumsy. We are holding Anoopa, her family and friends, dear Jed, my nephew close to our hearts. Ginny

I am so touched by Anoopa's webpage. I am Desiree Denning's mother and just visiting her website because my daughter told me about it. I am so sorry Anoopas abundant life was cut short. May God welcome her in His kingdom and keep her under his shelter for ever and ever. God bless her. Amen!!

So very touched by the life and death of Anoopa's story while watching late night news. Such a great contribution to the world (to whom much is given, much is required). And God know she gave alot, now he gives her eternal rest and peace. May God continue to bless your family, her memories will live forever (in words, in deeds, and in the lives of others. For it is in In His name that I pray for you.

I've never met Anoopa, but saw her story on Atlanta's FOX 5 news Friday 3/18/05. I was touched by her life, saddened by her untimely physical death and humbled by her accomplishments and passion for humanity. Anoopa: May your spirit continue to inspire...

I was searching for photo in google images and i came across this angelic face. I cant believe that Anoopa is no more. I cant believe. Or i dont want to believe that she is no more. She was just started to live. I read the abstract of her recently published paper. She deserved to live. I dont know where to direct the WHY'S and IF ONLY'S i have in my mind, to God or to life itself. I havent met Anoopa, but i can tell from her face that she was a wonderful person. Remembering her and praying for her here in this silence. Let her live through others and through memories. Wishing peace and strength to her family. Amy and Dylan has proved that friendship never dies.
