Microsoft Campus Tour

and the washigton d.c. which is a great company at this New York City.
The NYC is the Bestr Simulations of the united states of america and Mr. Hamilton knows that the U.S. is the Favoriates cities which I told him before
The Company Store has WinXP Pro on sale for $30 US. Only for FTEs and their privileged guests, sadly.
This used to be where Micrsoft made the games and hardware, and it was great fun to walk around the offices and see plans for games on the walls and designs of keyboards and mice that never made it to market.
Redwest was originally the home of the Consumer Division ("Microsoft Home") when it opened in the fall of 1995. I was on Encarta in Building C when it opened; building D and E were still under construction. Now Redwest is mostly MSN. There was once a plan to move MSN to a new complex, but that was nixed because the Saturn test lab in building E was far too expensive to move.
Yes, it is true, Nintendo has had failures. HOWEVER, People want new and interesting technologies, do they not? Otherwise none of these companies would be in existance. in order to do that, risks are taken. Some do it more than others. No ones f*cking perfect. Nintendo is on the front lines, trynig new things with each system. Lets see microsoft release a new and innovative way of doing things in the console gaming world.
And FYI, i highly doubt this is where "the next 3 failures" are cooked up. that would be in NOA HQ, Japan. Im not positive but im pretty sure.
Really enjoyed it ...
Had a hard time searching for it ... Imagine what results would come up ...
Tried searching for "Microsoft building" and then later "Microsoft Office ?? " hehehe
Finally, it was "Microsoft Campus" which did the trick
Anyways, thanks for taking the trouble to satisfy most of our curiosity of what MS WORLD looks like
Great Tour!!! and thanks for those awesome pics..
I enjoyed all the pics hosted on this site and its a great effort!! Good going!
Will be back soon!
wanna work here some day

Hi
I like your stories very much. I want to know where can I get photos of Microsoft Corporate Office (HQ), i need some idea for my design, but i dont know the link to the website. Can you help me. Is the one you show here is the corporate office ?( Why called Microsoft Redmond Campus? Is it a university?)http://www.dylangreene.com

Kahlo -
Thank you. Those pictures were all taken at Microsoft's HQ. They have many buildings spread over a large area, which is called a campus. There are buildings both on and off the campus. I'd guess that in the Redmond area Microsoft probably has probably 40 to 60 buildings.
If you are looking for one "main" Microsoft building, you aren't going to find it. All of the buildings server some purpose, and I don't think any single building is considered more important than another.

Very nice pictures, now I would sure want to visit the campus if I come to the US.But do normal visitors get access to the whole campus like you did?

Normal visitors can walk anywhere they please. It's spread over a large area and there are no gates to prevent you from driving around. You won't be able to go inside the buildings without an escort, but there is a visitors area with a museum and shop.

Microsoft has 8 million square feet of office space in the Redmond area. Contrast that to the Bank of America tower in downtown Seattle which has 1.5 million square feet and is the 12th tallest building in the U.S.

Its a wonderful tour on microsoft campus, but what the thing that really amazes me is the popularity of cricket among microsoft employees, thats really interesting. Never seen these much images, and U might be lucky to get all those images shot, instead of the security.

Hey I've worked there for years as the Landscaper and I can't believe the photos have not been taken down from the site... Microsoft is very strick about having their buildings photographed since 9-11.

Very informative. I have always wondered what the Microsoft campus looked like and how big it was. I plan to take some vacation and travel there to take a personal tour myself when I complete MCSE 2003 later this year. Is there a chance that I will meet Mr. Gates?
Posted January 1, 2006 4:41 PM
Zach: there is 0 chance you will see Billg. sorry. I work in his building and have only seen him during meetings.

What a fantastic tour, thank you so much.
Out of curiosity, do they still have the twinkies or did they finally come down on the side of employees living longer is a good thing?

Hi, great pics. Question - Any idea of the area (in acres) of the campus? I know they have, or will have after the planned expansion, about 10 million SF of office space, but I can't find any info, other than a site plan, of how large it is in actual area.
Thanks!
