CES 2005 - Custom Auto Electronics
Friday, January 7, 2005
There was an entire building dedicated to companies that specialized in customizing automobiles, or as they say in the biz, pimp my ride. I didn't see Xzibit, but I did see a lot of nice custom rides.

Another new trend: TV's under the hood. To give your mechanic something to watch.

It would have been funny if the TV showed a video of an engine. It would be the car-version of the TV channel that shows a log burning in a fireplace.

It's kinda hard to tell, but this TV is in the passenger window. It's mainly viewable by people driving along side of you. Because you want them to be watching your TV instead of the road.

Okay, I think BOSS Audio Systems set the record with the most speakers in one vehicle with their very highly modified armored vehicle. Because why wait for the H3 Hummer when you can get a finely customized armored car today?

Another view of the armored car.
